Classes Started
Classes resumed Tuesday, September 3rd, 2019 and end in June 2020. We take a break in January.
Green Acres Center
4401 Sideburn Road,
Fairfax, Virginia, 22030
The Tuesday night class starts gathering at 7:15 and ends at 8:45 pm.

What We Do . . . . . .

The classes cover popular set and ceili dances that are danced at regular ceilis throughout the Washington, D.C. area.   Set dancing is loosely akin to square dancing, but the entire dance has already been scripted.   For example, the Cashel Set dance, well known to most Set dancers, will follow the same patterns around the world.   The music accompanying the dances includes jigs, reels and hornpipes, and is similar to music played at contra dances.   If you enjoy this type of dancing music, and want to get some exercise and laughs, you should give us a try.
The class leader is Hugh Conway. He can be contacted at: ceiliset@yahoo.com. The classes are offered through the City of Fairfax Parks and Recreation Department. You can register online through their web site, or at the Green Acres Center. Each Tuesday night session of five weeks is $36. A walk-in is $8.50.
When the classes meet outside of the Green Acres Center for parties or ceilis, it is called the Tuesday Night Ceili Club. See the FaceBook link below.

Directions . . .
